Hotmelt jelly is a protein adhesive. This is melted in a solid state (block), applied to the adhesive surface when hot and creates a firm bond when cooled. Advantages of jelly are its biodegradability (natural product), low corrugation of processed papers, fast attraction, suitability even for difficult products, drying effect, increased elasticity and freedom from tension. Field of application: machine book cover production, bonding and doubling of papers, cardboards and cartons. Protein adhesives are mainly used for book cover production, machine laminating and overlay work as well as in manual paper processing.
Outstanding are our PräMelt gels, which have been specially developed for the production of book covers. PräMelt OT 24 Digital is particularly suitable for processing digitally printed covers and even real photo paper. Thanks to the good adhesive strength, the folded edges do not stand up again, even with photo papers. PräMelt OT 30 Universal is suitable for almost all common cover materials and can be used for both manual and machine processing.
