PräziGard | Endsheet gluing machine
ideal for sewn book blocks
The PräziGard is designed to glue folded endpapers to sewn book blocks. The machine applies a strip of glue on endsheets and connects them to the book block.
Process
- The PräziGard is equipped with separate slots for the block and the two endsheets. First, the gap width for the correct gluing and pressing of the book block is adjusted by means of setting screws.
- Then, glue is filled into the glue container. After switching on the main switch, a cycle is started by pressing the cycle button.
- Now the front endpaper, the book block and finally the rear endpaper are inserted into their foreseen slots.
- When pressing the cycle button, one of the guide elements aligns the endpapers with the top edge of the book block and a strip of glue is applied on the endpapers. The book block is forwarded to the pressing station where the endpapers are pressed against the book block.
- From there, they should be removed one after the other. As long as format and thickness of the book blocks do not change, several cycles may be completed in a row. For processing wider book blocks, an additional front support (included in delivery) may be attached to give it more stability.
